If, for one reason or another, you want to remove a page from Google or prevent it from being indexed, you can do it in 2 different ways. The first is to create a Google Webmaster Tools account and define in the settings which page to keep off search engines. The second is more simple. It simply requires you to add a small line of code to your pages to tell Google that the page shouldn’t be found on the search results pages.
First, go on the page on your website that is to be removed from Google. Here are the steps to follow:
- Drag and drop the script module on your page
- The script module contains 3 fields. Find the one who mentions the
- Publish your website online!
There you go! All done! Now you need to wait until Google scans your site and take the change into account. This may take a few days or a few weeks, depending on how often you publish your site. The more often a site is published, the more often Google scans it for updates.
